First Birthday Parties at an Indoor Playground in London Ontario

First Birthday Parties at an Indoor Playground in London Ontario

They are turning one. The guest list is mostly cousins under six, three grandparents, and someone asking whether a one-year-old even needs a "real" party venue.

Fair question. We host a lot of **first birthdays** at Off The Wall Kids — **539 First St in East London** (Argyle, near Fanshawe College) — and the answer is usually yes, if you want **things to do in London** indoors where mixed ages actually work: toddlers safe nearby, older cousins on the donut slide and ballistics arena, parents with sightlines and food on site.

This is the first-birthday guide — what our packages include, how play time works, and what to know before you book.

Why families pick an indoor playground for a first birthday

**Weather-proof** — January first birthdays and July heat waves both land indoors.

**Mixed ages** — the birthday kid might barely walk; older cousins want to run. Our toddler area, walk-through structure, donut slide, and ballistics arena live in **one building** with parent sightlines from the eating area.

**Food from our kitchen** — party packages include a **food credit** for our concession. You choose pizza, platters, and kid-friendly options — not a fixed mystery menu box.

**Play after cake** — guests keep playing in the facility until we close after party room time ends. First birthdays often turn into a full-family afternoon.

What a standard package includes

Every standard package includes:

**90 minutes in the private party room** on your booked schedule (example: 10:00am booking → room until 11:30am)

**Unlimited play in the indoor playground until we close** — party room access ends when your 90 minutes are up; guests may keep playing in the facility

**Free adult admission** per package tier

**Food credit** from our kitchen — applied when you pay your food balance at the end

First birthday guest counts

A lot of first birthdays book the **12-kid tier** with a smaller crew — immediate family, a few toddler friends, cousins. If your list is bigger, 24- and 36-kid packages exist.

Still not sure on headcount? Call **519-914-0551** before you book the wrong tier.

Private rental vs standard package for a big first birthday

**Standard package** — private party room, shared main playground with drop-in families (normal Saturday life). Best value for most families.

**Private facility rental** — exclusive **two-hour event window**, whole building for your group during that window, up to 150 people. Drop-in may still be available before or after depending on schedule.

What the one-year-old actually does at the party

Honest answer: they might spend twenty minutes in toddler bead play, five minutes mesmerized by a cousin on the jumping pillow, and the rest of the party in your arms — and that is fine.

The venue still works because **everyone else** has a full indoor playground — ninja course, donut slide, ballistics arena — without you hosting chaos in your living room.

Practical first-birthday checklist

**Book early** — weekend slots about four weeks out are often gone.

**Outside food** — generally not permitted. **Inspected bakery cakes and cupcakes** allowed in your booked party room only (receipt required).

**Socks** — everyone past admission, any age. Grandparents too.

**Waivers** — everyone past the counter, playing or not. Digital waivers good **12 months**: offthewallkids.ca/waiver

**Parking** on party Saturdays — allow extra time: offthewallkids.ca/kids-activities-blog/parking-at-off-the-wall-kids-london-ontario-parties-weekends

**Running late?** Parties run on a schedule — call if you are behind: offthewallkids.ca/kids-activities-blog/running-late-to-your-booking-off-the-wall-kids-london

Drop-in families still welcome on party Saturdays

Parties use a **private party room** — not the whole building. Capacity well over 300; parties use roughly 75 spaces at peak. Drop-in families still come.

London families have voted us **Best Indoor Playground** two years in a row through community votes. A first birthday here is less about the one-year-old conquering the ninja course — and more about giving the whole family **things to do in London** in one stop while you celebrate.
